The Color Red

This is my darling nephew premiering footage on – How to spell my colors.

The Color Orange

The Color Yellow

he forgot verse 2 but it's still just as cute.

The Color Green

The Color Blue

The Color Purple

Jumping beans

We stopped by my parent's house on Saturday morning to drop off some donuts for our cousins
. Saylor and Roe expended some energy (how they had any is a question to me since they didn't sleep much the night before). And yes, they are still in their pjs.

daddy's girls

My girls are starting to turn on me...into Daddy's girls. I better step it up.

racing runner

Saylor Lillie participated in a race this past weekend. Thankfully, she followed the correct trail and finished the 1/4 mile race as opposed to last year when we took a wrong turn and ran an insane amount longer. The trail map and medal

amazing

It was beautiful...we spotted a rainbow last night outside of our house. I snapped a pic of my parents kissing in front of it. I don't think the placement was just right as it looks more like a unicorn horn protruding out of my fathers head instead of an actual rainbow but you get the idea all the same.
really, how cute are they...even after some 30 plus years.

stolen fruit

I found a pear and an apple tree a few weeks ago as I was exploring for places to take pictures. As an adventure last week, the girls and I traveled back to the trees and selected a few fruits to devour. I had a moment of hesitation as I'm not sure if this is legal but we sure had a 'sweet' time.

Let's compare

In recent girl conversations the topic of pedicures came up. A girlfriend compared my latest Target purchase to popping a zit, which, mind you, she stated this gadget was EVEN MORE rewarding. So, here's to the Ped Egg and popping Zit comparison...I will let you know.

Sophia's Turn

Sophia was SO proud this morning to go through the same motions as we did for Saylor on Tuesday. She started mornings out today and was happy to sport her backpack. I can't say that she was still beaming once I dropped her off but considering, it was still a pretty smooth process.

I just can't imagine what's going to happen once they REALLY start school.

To follow in one of the busiest weeks - ever, Saylor Lillie started ballet class yesterday. She LOVED it.

"Pre" preschool breakfast

I derived this idea from a friend last week. She conveyed a new tradition set at her house by hosting a cake breakfast for the first day of school. I copied the idea and this morning Saylor Lillie awoke to a frosted "1st day of school" cake awaiting sprinkles. Really, what's a little sugar high going to do to a teacher when it's juxtaposed with 11 other 3 yr olds on the first day of school?!?!

Please disregard my vocals...it's 7 in the morning an let's face it, I've always lacked in that area.

Sept 9th

Sept 9th is a big day - a big day for multiple reasons. First and foremost, it was my daughter's very first day of preschool. That's a monumental event for us. Not only was it a first day, but the tranistion and dropoff went off complelty stressfree! I never would have guessed this a year ago, or even two years ago as she screamed uncontrolably the entire way to school (aka moms day out) and while dropping her off. Anyway, she's growing up and as special as that is, it's also sad to see.
Secondly, Sept 9th is the most known day of birth in my memory. If today is your birthday, have a happy, happy day. But, and as someone you might not know, I have a little knack for memorizing birtdays, here is what I know:

My pledge mom from College Sarah!!
Erin MacPhee
Kerry Wefald
Apryl Pfizenmaier
Chad Hurla
Tindall's babysitter Jessica
Patrick Keenan
I thought it was also old babysitter's birthday as well until I learned last month that it's actually Sept 7th (so, happy birthday Kristen 2 days late)
Adam Sandler
Hugh Grant
Michael Keaton
and I'm forgetting one other person I recently asked but, with age, my memory is failing.

Happy Birthday to those and Happy day to everyone else.

wildcat weekend

We traveled to the K-State game this weekend sans kids. The rainy storms turned me into a fair weather fan as we only watched the first half and spent the second half in the parking lot. Go Wildcats! :)

my baby girl

turned 1 1/2 yesterday. And, even though we didn't have an ice cream social like last year, she still lived it up with an eventful day that kicked off in KC with a continental breakfast at the Marriott. Josh had a meeting so we went along for the ride. The girls swam, shopped, rode rides at the mall, ate Taco Bell for lunch (they even had balloon's for some random reason) and McDonald's for dinner. Had cookies at S's back-to-school bash and stories before bed. All in all, I'd say she had a pretty good 1/2 birthday day!

Here's a picture of her yesterday - 1 1/2 and as my friend said last night, "half way to 3" which really is amazing...

and another picture from this past weekend at the cabin...she's such a sweetie.

picturesque scenery Kansas style

We stopped on Monday, on our way home from the cabin to capture the beautiful landscape of the wild sunflowers. The girls, mostly Saylor, enjoyed the flowers and the scenery.

I'm in a new business

the upholstery business that is (I'm being incredibly facetious). I recovered a chair this weekend at the cabin. Had NO idea what I was doing but it turned out remarkably well. Here's the before:

and after:

I'm planning on sewing some type of box skirt for the bottom so it's not completely finished. Sophia also loved the new look:

Internationally Profound

Josh and I went to an International Party on Friday representing Greece. We brought Ouzo (famous drink of Greece), a Greek Salad and unbeknown to be, the entertainment as well!

Thank you Walker's for hosting. As usual, we had a fabulous time! Although, next time the OTHER Josh can be the entertainer.
