snow play

on a snow day. Here's a few pictures from the first snow in Dec. This is Lilliebean before - she's fired up and ready to roll.
Sophia was completely opposite (as they usually are) in the fact that she didn't want anything to do with the snow, or the cold for that matter.
taking strides...she reminded me of the little boy in the Christmas Story. Cemented into her snow clothes.
Saylor jumped right in, making snow angels, sledding and eating the snow.
not so much for Sophers.

continued blogworthy HS Friends

my best friends from high school were back in town celebrating the holidays. Mags hasn't been back for 3 1/2 years traveling home from Switzerland. Phoeb's more frequent, which I prefer, as she's living in New York and it's not such a long road to travel. And Keely, I'm blessed to have her as an everyday friend seeing her almost daily! I need to scan in an old pic from high school to juxtapose.

Baby it WAS cold outside...

As usual, I'm delayed in my posting but I still feel that these moments are indeed "blog worthy".
Here's Saylor enjoying her new favorite drink "snowman soup" (hot chocolate, marshmallows and chocolate chips) thanks to JP.

Merry Christmas

yesterday, while I was cleaning up the kitchen following lunch, my sweet, little, soon-to-be four year old walked up to me and simply stated, "mommy, you are in my heart." It warmed me over from head to toe. I was moved by these five little words so sweetly put. As I reflect on the eve of our Saviors birth, I want everyone to know - all of our family and friends -that you are indeed, in our hearts!

Merry Christmas!

Dear Santa

we wish for peace and happiness this Season and always.

It's been a busy week

I've let Saylor skip her naps for the past couple of days and this is what has happened around 5 pm...

hide and seek

currently the girls favorite game to play with daddy.

Little dancer

Saylor kicked off her first dance recital on Saturday night. It was monumental for us since last year we watched our friends dance at this same recital and it kicked off a stream of constant begging to be in dance. She smiled and had a nice time and ultimately is all that matters - even in her white bobby socks since I completely forgot her ballet slippers.

Choo Choo

Pride and Joy - the finished project. we started with a train cake pan
lots of smiles
cracked a "few" eggs
and had a "few" licks (notice the beater is STILL attached!!!)

equals a Pride and Joy Choo Choo Cake.

The End.

yeah, she ate my arm...

remember last weeks post about our little angel...well, those angelic wings might have been mistaken for malicious horns since little Sophia decided to take a chuck out of her older sisters arm. She broke the skin AND big sis was wearing a shirt at the time. Impressive.

26.2

I thought it was time to post some pictures from this past weekends marathon now that I'm able to walk, battle the stairs and conquer a mile or two. Lets start with the night before - all smiles in the hotel room. Here we are 30 minutes before. Eager. Anxious. Scared. Ready. Let the good times roll. One quick good luck hug and kiss The Curb Crew minus Mark, who also served as the photographer. Our Curb Crew assisted with setting our pace around mile 18. This is when the pain started knocking at the door. and, let's fast forward from 18 to 26.2 - the finish. Ahh, the best part about a marathon is seeing the finish line! Here I am, just completing the race, falling to the ground in utter exhaustion and fatigue and immediately turning into a jungle gym for my kids. The brevity of life.

finishers, with medals to prove it.fun family pics Finally, my stance on the marathon: I can't say that the third time was a charm but I can say that it was my LAST. At least until next time. :)
