First day of school

Today was my big girls first day of school (preschool that is, the elusive kindergarten is next year). She was actually giddy when she woke up - which is a first for us. Here's a little video of us singing the First Day song, much like last year.

she helped me make cupcakes for the PERFECT morning breakfast. It's such a treat to fuel my child with sugar prior to the first day school - high energy on the first day and sweet little girl on the remaining.

final hug for big sis.

working weekend

I put together a few photobooks this weekend for some clients and I thought I'd better throw one together for our family. I have yet to finish Sophia's first year scrapbook and I think I'm up to year 2.5 for Say - needless to say, I'm a little behind. Here's just a few pages...

I can't wait to see the finished product!

Gruesome but poignant

WARNING - this is VERY graphic.

I will never text while driving...

7 years ago today...

I was wearing this dress.
The girls and I surprised Josh tonight with a little anniversary dress up. I put on my wedding dress and the girls sassed up with some "flower girl" dresses. I'm thinking Saylor has attended to many wedding recently as she directed the entire event. From the first dance to throwing the bouquet. We could not stop laughing...

race for a cure

I was one of the almost 30,000 participants in the Race for Cure last weekend in KC.

My girlfriend from college was diagnosed a year and half ago with Breast Cancer. She's my age and has two little girls the exact same age as mine. Thus, the two good reasons.
We all took turns caring her 2 yr old Avery. Because of that, I was glad we walked and not ran. That and the fact that it was 90 degrees, extremely hilly and WINDY!
the participants
Megan and I.
Friends from home that I traveled to KC to see. :) and my FAVORITE shirt/saying of the day.

day trip

The girls and I took a rode trip to Topeka last week. We walked the zoo, rode the train, hopped on the up down (aka the carousel) and topped it off with Chuck E Cheese for lunch.

changes...

Tons of memories took place in this car. First major purchase as a married couple - we felt like just adults. It was SO big until just the two of us turned into a family. We drove it to the hospital before I was induced. Actually brought both my girls home from the hospital in this ride. Many family vacations. Countless trips to the store. Vomiting moments. Laughing moments. Hailing moments. And many, many singing moments (some of which I had to erase from the overhead recording compartment) So we thought loooonnnnngggg and hard on what to do.In the end, we gave her love and said our goodbyes. She was a good car. Ahhh, 80,000 miles of memories...
